Beijing won the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in 2015, and this is set to become one of the first cities in the world to have hosted both the winter, as well as the summer Olympic Games. Their vision for the 2022 Olympics is “Joyful Rendezvous on Pure Snow and Ice”. They are building on the legacies that were set during the 2008 Olympic Games that were also held in Beijing.
All of the ice events – ice hockey, skating, and curling, plus the four snow events – snowboarding and skiing for both men and women, will make full use of the legacy venues for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games agenda.
The Beijing 2022 Games will, however, also include seven new events: freestyle skiing for both men and women, women’s monobob, mixed team events in speed skating relay, freestyle skiing aerials, ski jumping, and snowboarding cross. The program is gender-balanced with more female athletes than other previous Games.

He has been targeting to make the US winter team, and he has a mentor to help him with the ropes. He is certainly one of the up-and-coming athletes to look out for. Although he is young, he has shown plenty of promise.
Erin Jackson
Erin Jackson came onto the scene when she was only 25 years old and finished fifth during the 24th women’s 500m competitions. There are plenty of reasons why she is an up-and-coming athlete, and one of these reasons is that she is expected to participate in the speedskater in Beijing in 2022.
She switched over to long-track speedskating from inline staking in 2018, and there is plenty of promise expected from her. She also came in third in the two times she competed and managed to do this in under 40 seconds.
Alice Merryweather
This is a young Alpine skier. During the last winter games, she was a late addition to the US team after Steve Nyman – the veteran was pulled out due to an ankle injury. She went on to win the downhill of the FIS Junior Championships for World Ski. She also got her first top-20 Finishes in the Aspen World Cup.
She is certainly one athlete to watch and one that is up-and-coming. During the 2022 Winter Olympics, she is expected to win a few games.
Justin Olsen
Justin Olsen is a three-time Olympic winner who is 30 years old. He is therefore hardly a rookie in the sport of bobsledding. It can actually take one more than a decade to develop their skills as a pilot, and it is in Beijing in 2022 where we expect him to find his success.
He won the gold medal as part of the “Night Train” in bobsledding – a crew that had been created by Steven Holcomb. He, however, switched to the front of the sled after the Sochi competitions. Holcomb’s unexpected death in the month of May caused Olsen to become one of the best and top pilots in the USA, in just under three years.
His greatness was determined when he finished 14th during a competition, and this was after an emergency appendectomy. Olsen is set to win a medal in the 2022 Olympic Games, and he is certainly one of the most up-and-coming athletes in the game.
Vincent Zhou
This is a figure skater who is only 17 years old. He managed to finish sixth during his first Olympic debut which set him as the best contender and one of the up-and-coming athletes for the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.
He had only one quad behind his teammate Nathan Chen and did four quads more than Chen. The teen then benefited from a head-to-head competition in the next four years. He was also one of the first to land a clean quad Lutz for the Olympic Games.
